Katherine began photography at the age of eight with her father's point and shoot camera. Since then, photography has been a pastime of hers and her skills and aesthetic value have developed to become unique to herself. Photography is especially fascinating to her because "instead of telling the world how you see your subjects, you can show them instead, which in my opinion, is much more personal of a gesture." She further states that "there are little to no women who specialize in photos of musical artists and concert photography."
