"Bee Movie" is a riveting, emotional, romantic story about a specific bee, Barry Benson, who desires to change the world and its views on bees and honey. Benson, with the help of his florist sidekick, begins the largest agricultural lawsuit of the century. Their win is exciting, but takes a nasty turn as unexpected consequences arise from the win.
"Bee Movie”, while short in length, checks all the boxes for an excellent film. The complex metaphors contain valuable life lessons, such as respect for nature and others around us, as well as a lesson in possible consequences of acting impulsively. The storyline itself shows an interesting perspective of honey production, bees in general, and with its creative twist on the lifestyle of a Bee, which creates for an incredibly innovative and exciting film. Another great aspect of the film was its emphasis on friendship and the friendship between Benson and the florist, which is an important example of a relationship that is nonjudgmental, and grows very deep emotionally.
However its "emotional" side of the friendship also brings us to the negative side. Benson and the florist begin a romantic relationship, which generates an incredibly ridiculous and awkward vibe for the film. Furthermore, it hints at bestiality in a children's movie, but luckily, the children won’t be able to recognize this slightly strange aspect of the film. However, for more of a mature audience, this abnormal feature of the movie may be evident.
Nevertheless, aside from this negativity of the film, which is barely worth a full point deduction from my rating, “Bee Movie” is a quality, exciting, important movie that all audience members need to watch. "Bee Movie" gets a 9.5/10.
